Dr Kalpana Purohit is Professor & Head, Department of English, Jai Narain Vyas University, Jodhpur, Rajasthan. She is a Critic and a Poet too. She has been Director of the Centre for Women’s Studies.
She is an active researcher who has prolifically published articles on the multifaceted streams of Australian literature, Gender Studies, American Literature, Comparative Literature, Post Colonial Literature, Children’s Literature and Critical Theories. She has seven books to her credit. Her interest in translation is richly invested in Rajasthani and Hindi literature.
Her paramount excellence is richly invested in concerns for humanity and spreading the message of peace and human values through her writings and field work, workshops under the auspices various academic and administrative bodies. An extensively travelled erudite, she has presented copiously at national and international rendezvous of seminars and conferences home and abroad.
She is a lifetime member of EFSLE and also the Joint Secretary for its Rajasthan- West & South Region.
