Dr. Beena S. Nair, Assistant Professor (Sr. Grade) & Vice-Chairperson, Department of English, in Amrita School of Arts & Sciences, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Deemed to be University, Amritapuri Campus, Kollam, Kerala. She has over 9 years of teaching experience in India & West Asia; and 5 years of research experience as Junior Research Fellow and Senior Research Fellow of UGC. She was awarded PhD from the University of Calicut and the topic of research was Eco- feminism in the 20th century, American Southern Women writers. Currently she is Member, Board of Studies (Languages), in Amrita, and is active in research as Thesis Advisor, Doctoral Committee Member of PhD candidates in English and Social Work. She has designed syllabus for various core courses & Elective courses for B Tech, PhD & Int. MA (English)
Her area of research explores Eco-Criticism, Culture Studies, and Gender Studies & Landscape as Narrative in American, Indian and other regional literature. Her academic & creative contributions include Magazine Editorship, Arts Club & Debate Club Co-ordination; in addition to11 publications as book chapters, creative writing and international journal articles. She has presented papers and chaired sessions in National & International Conferences. Her other areas of interest, focuses on travelling to historical sites, learning languages, Yoga and Indian classical Music. Currently, she is also the Coordinator for Kerala (South) Region of EFSLE.
