Mouna Lama

 

Mouna Lama is from Darjeeling, West Bengal. She completed her early schooling from Loreto Convent Darjeeling. She completed her Bachelor of Arts with English as the honors subject from Loreto College, Darjeeling and her Masters in English from Darjeeling Government College, University of North Bengal. She has an M. Phil. degree from Sikkim Central University with Tea Garden literature as her topic for dissertation. Her areas of interest for research are the diverse socio-cultural-linguistic heritage of the sub-Himalayan region and the incorporation of this diversity in the literature that has emerged from this region. Apart from this, the tea gardens of the Darjeeling hills of North Bengal with its unique history dense with the colonial presence on one hand and the local inhabitants who themselves were migrants from Nepal, is another area she is keenly interested in. She is currently teaching at Netaji Subhas Mahavidalaya, Coochbehar, West Bengal. She is one of the Coordinators for West Bengal (South) Region of EFSLE
