Professor Dushyant Nimavat serves as a professor in the Department of English at Gujarat University, Ahmedabad, India. His research spans Diaspora Literature, Comparative Literature, Cultural Studies, Indian Knowledge Systems and literary approaches to environmental studies, with a sustained focus on interdisciplinary inquiry and decolonial perspectives. He has authored fourteen books and contributed numerous chapters to edited volumes, reflecting long-term engagement with literary theory, cultural analysis and knowledge systems rooted in Indian intellectual traditions. His publication record includes sixty-three research papers in national and international journals, with fifteen indexed in SCOPUS. Professor Nimavat currently serves as Director of a major ICSSR funded research project on Bharatiya Knowledge Systems, with an approved grant of two crore INR, marking one of the significant humanities research initiatives in the country. His academic profile also includes three registered patents, indicating sustained involvement with innovation and knowledge production within the humanities domain. He has served as a Council Member of the Indian Association for Canadian Studies, contributing to international academic exchange and disciplinary development. His work has received recognition from five prestigious academic bodies, including three national and two international awards, awarded in recognition of his contributions to research excellence and pedagogic practice. As a mentor and doctoral supervisor, Professor Nimavat has guided fourteen PhD scholars to successful completion, strengthening research capacity in literary and cultural studies.
