Dr. Rajshree Ranawat

Dr. Rajshree Ranawat is a highly accomplished Assistant Professor in the Department of English at Jai Narain Vyas University (JNVU), Jodhpur, Rajasthan. A distinguished alumna of Sophia College, Ajmer, she graduated with distinction in 1998, securing a prestigious college rank. She holds a Ph.D. in Partition Literature and has further expanded her academic expertise with a diploma and certificate in Gender Studies, as well as Women, Law, and Social Justice.

With more than twenty years of experience in teaching and research, Dr. Ranawat is well-regarded for her scholarly rigor and innovative approach to pedagogy. Her diverse research interests include Environmental Humanities, Gender Studies, the History of English Literature, Partition Literature, Indian English Literature, and Trauma Studies. She is a prolific author who has published extensively in high-impact international journals and the UGC Care List. Her notable publications include works such as Unlocking the Wisdom: Temples and Shrines as Catalysts for Consciousness and Gary Snyder’s Deep Ecology and Aesthetics of Poetry.

Beyond her individual research, Dr. Ranawat has made significant editorial contributions, editing volumes such as History Reconstructed through Literature, Literature: Nation, Identity and Culture, and LGBTQ: Celebrating Discordance. She serves on the editorial board of an international journal and has also served as guest editor of two national journals and as the editor of the university newsletter, Parisar. As a research supervisor, she has successfully mentored three Ph.D. scholars, with two more currently under her guidance.

Dr. Ranawat also holds several key leadership and administrative roles at JNVU. She currently serves as the Coordinator of the National Education Policy (NEP), Nodal Officer of the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) Cell, and served as Director of the Buddhist Study Centre, founding Director of Samrat Mihir Bhoj Research Centre. Her excellence has been recognized with the prestigious Kulpati Samman, awarded by the Honorable Vice-Chancellor for her exceptional services rendered in the academic session 2023-24. Additionally, she has contributed to digital education by creating content for the SWAYAM PRABHA channel, including a film on the Peasant Movement in India. Through her dedication to academic innovation and the university community, she continues to be an inspiring figure to both students and colleagues.

She is a lifetime member of EFSLE and also an Executive Council Member (ECM) of its Rajasthan- West & South Region of Rajasthan.
