Dr. Uttiya Chattopadhyay is an Assistant Professor of Geography at the Bhawanipur Education Society College, affiliated with the University of Calcutta. A person with 5 years of research experience and more than 8 Years of teaching experience, Dr. Chattopadhyay has expertise in Urban Geography and did his research in the field of “Gender Inequality” with a UGC fellowship. He has a short-term training in GIS from NATMO. He has authored several research papers, articles and 2 books so far. He has participated in more than 35 Seminars, Conferences, Workshops, and FDPs so far and visited Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Bhutan, and many places in India in the pursuit of knowledge. Dr. Chattopadhyay is also a “B” Graded vocal artist (specialised in the area of Rabindra Sangit) of All India Radio (AIR) – Akashvani, Kolkata, and a regular artiste of Yuvavani, Santiniketan FM, and Doordarshan. He is a Governing Body member and a life member of many academic and cultural bodies. Apart from teaching, Dr. Chattopadhyay has a flair for creative writing, travel, and literature.
He is a lifetime member of EFSLE and also an Executive Council Member (ECM) of its West Bengal (South) Region of West Bengal.
