Dr. Shruti is Professor of Hindi in the Department of Hindi and Modern Indian Languages at the University of Lucknow. She received her Ph.D. in Hindi from the University of Lucknow for her research on Hindi Naammala Kosh and the thesaurus, which is among the first academic studies in Hindi to examine Amarkosh and the thesaurus together. Her research interests include lexicography, functional Hindi, journalism, gender studies, and film studies. She has presented at various international forums and has published extensively on topics such as modern Hindi literature (both fiction and non-fiction), the contemporary status and relevance of Hindi, journalism, and women’s literature.
She is a lifetime member of EFSLE and also an Executive Council Member (ECM) of its Central-South Region of Uttar Pradesh.
